SEHR ATHAR (MSW/RSW)

SEHR ATHAR MSW/RSW (she/her)

Sehr is a Social Worker, Psychotherapist and Yoga Teacher who helps people build mind-body resiliency during difficult life transitions. She believes that healing is a journey of coming (back) into yourself with radical self compassion for all our parts, and that we all have insight into how to get there.

Specializing in neurobiological and somatic approaches to therapy, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Brainspotting, Sehr guides clients in exploring how trauma, anxiety, grief, and relational patterns including childhood wounding, are held in the body—often in ways words alone cannot express. By cultivating mindfulness and curiosity in her sessions, Sehr supports the transformation of these protective and adaptive strategies, helping individuals feel whole again.

With over 15 years in community health, Sehr brings a deep commitment to health equity to her clinical practice. Her work is informed by her lived experience as a cisgender, South Asian immigrant-settler and is grounded in feminist and harm-reduction principles. When she isn't supporting clients, Sehr is often found painting, dreaming up her next travel adventure, and spending time with her young pup.
