MOROCCO RETREAT
THE ART OF EASE.
September 24 - September 30, 2028
Marrakech, Morocco
6 nights | 7 Days
A week of yoga, culture, connection and exploration in Morocco.
The Art of Ease is an invitation to experience Marrakech with time, curiosity and attention.
Our mornings begin with yoga, creating a grounded rhythm for the day ahead. From there, we move outward into the city: through the medina and its winding streets, into kitchens and hammams, alongside local guides, makers and traditions that offer a deeper sense of the place we have come to visit.
We’ll explore Morocco through food, craft, architecture, ritual and conversation. There will be shared meals, time in the souks, opportunities to learn from local hosts and artisans, and space to notice the details that make Marrakech feel entirely its own.
Yoga remains the anchor of the week, but the experience extends well beyond the mat. It is also about where we are, who we meet, what we taste, what we learn, and the conversations that unfold along the way.
There will be room to wander. To sit over coffee on the rooftop. To linger over brunch. To follow something that catches your eye. To rest beside the pool after a full morning in the city.
The Art of Ease is about being present enough to take a place in fully, and spacious enough to let it leave an impression.

Yoga gives our days a rhythm.
Most mornings begin together on the rooftop with a grounded, spacious practice: slow movement, breathwork and meditation designed to wake up the body, settle the mind and create a little more room for the day ahead.
Our practices draw from Hatha, Yin, Restorative yoga, mobility, pranayama and meditation. Some days may include a second, quieter practice in the evening; others will leave the afternoon and evening open for exploring Marrakech, shared meals or simply following the pace of the day.
There is no expectation to arrive with a particular level of experience. The practice is adaptable, thoughtful and designed to meet you where you are.
Throughout the week, yoga becomes less about stepping away from the experience and more about helping us arrive inside it: present in our bodies, attentive to our surroundings and open to everything a new place has to offer.
-
Food is part of how we experience a place.
Throughout the week, we’ll gather around the table for generous breakfasts, shared dinners and meals that introduce us to the flavours, ingredients and traditions of Moroccan cooking.
Expect fresh breads, seasonal fruit, vegetables, herbs, olives, spices, tagines, salads and plenty of mint tea, with meals prepared to feel abundant, grounding and connected to where we are.
We’ll also spend time learning through food, including a hands-on Moroccan cooking experience that gives us a closer look at the ingredients, techniques and stories behind the dishes we’re eating.
Meals are also where much of the retreat comes together: long conversations, slower evenings, new friendships and the simple pleasure of sharing good food in a beautiful place.
Meat and vegetarian options available.
-
Our home for the week is Riad Yasmine, a small, beautifully designed riad tucked into the heart of Marrakech.
Built around a central courtyard and plunge pool, the riad offers the kind of intimacy that makes a retreat feel connected without feeling crowded. Rooms are layered with Moroccan tile, carved wood, textiles and quiet details, while the rooftop terrace gives us space to practise, gather, drink coffee and watch the city shift through the day.
Staying in a riad also gives us a different relationship to Marrakech. We’re not removed from the city in a resort; we’re living within it, stepping out into the medina and returning to a calm home base at the end of the day.
Retreat pricing is based on your room selection and includes six nights of accommodation along with the yoga, meals and cultural experiences outlined above.
All prices are listed in CAD. A $750 non-refundable deposit secures your place, with the remaining balance due 90 days before the retreat.

Morocco Retreat 2023 - Natalie Myers
"Where do I start! This was my first ever yoga retreat, but it won't be my last. Slow Medicine curated the most moving and humbling experience. Our amazing hosts and yoga teachers presented a unique combination of yoga practices that allowed you to fully relax and be present.
This retreat was the perfect balance of yoga, social, leisure, and me-time. I loved meeting like-minded souls and enjoyed wonderful conversations at mealtime. It was an incredible experience!"

There is space built into the week to explore Marrakech in your own way.
You might wander the souks, visit a museum or garden, linger over lunch, book a hammam, shop, read beside the pool or spend an afternoon doing very little at all.
We’ll give you recommendations and help you find your way, but some of the best travel moments happen when there is nowhere you specifically need to be.
-
This retreat brings together yoga, culture, connection and exploration.
Our practice gives the week its rhythm, while Marrakech gives us plenty to experience beyond the mat. We’ll learn through food, history, architecture, craft and conversation, spending time with local guides, hosts and makers along the way.
The intention is simple: to be present enough to really experience where we are.
-
There may also be opportunities to add experiences during your free time, such as:
Traditional hammam and spa treatments
Museums, gardens and cultural sites
Additional food or cooking experiences
Shopping and artisan visits
Day trips beyond Marrakech
We’ll share our recommendations and can help point you in the right direction.
-
Our days have a rhythm, without every hour being spoken for.
Most mornings begin with coffee, tea, fruit and dates before gathering for yoga and meditation. Afterwards, we sit down together for a generous brunch.
Some days take us out into Marrakech for guided cultural experiences, cooking, food, history and exploration. Others leave larger stretches of time open to wander, rest or make your own plans.
We gather again for dinner on most evenings, with occasional evening yoga or meditation depending on the flow of the day.
A detailed itinerary will be shared closer to the retreat, but expect a thoughtful balance of practice, shared experiences, cultural exploration and time that remains entirely your own.
-
There will be at least one yoga or meditation practice each day, generally 60–90 minutes.
Most practices take place in the morning and may include Hatha, Slow Flow, Yin, Restorative yoga, mobility, breathwork and meditation. On some days we may gather again for a shorter evening practice.
Everything is adaptable, and you do not need an established yoga practice to participate. Everything on retreat is also optional. You are always welcome to join the full schedule, skip a practice, sleep in, explore on your own or take the time you need. The retreat is there to support your experience, not dictate it.
-
Yes. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation, interruption and medical coverage.
Unexpected things happen, and retreat payments are subject to our cancellation policy.
-
The riad does not serve alcohol.
There may be opportunities to enjoy a drink while we are out in Marrakech, and you are welcome to make your own choices during your free time. We simply ask that everyone remains mindful of the shared nature of the retreat.
-
Absolutely.
Many people join our retreats on their own, and the small-group format makes it easy to get to know one another naturally over practices, meals and days spent exploring together.
Come alone, with a friend, with a partner or with family. All are welcome.
-
No. Yoga mats and blocks are provided at the riad.
You are welcome to bring any personal props you particularly enjoy practising with.
-
A $750 CAD non-refundable and non-transferable deposit secures your place on the retreat.
Your remaining balance is due 90 days before the retreat. Once paid, retreat payments are non-refundable.
Because travel plans can change for reasons outside anyone’s control, we strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you book.
Slow Medicine Company is not responsible for flights, transportation, accommodation outside the retreat dates, weather disruptions or other travel-related expenses.
