(she/her)
Julia Gibran, MSW/RSW, is a somatic social worker and trauma therapist whose work brings together cognitive therapy, neuroscience and body-based practice.
Her approach is compassionate, practical and highly individual. Julia helps clients understand the patterns, beliefs and protective responses that may once have helped them cope but can also leave them feeling stuck, depleted, reactive or disconnected.
Her work goes beyond talk therapy alone. Depending on the person, sessions may draw from mindfulness-based CBT, EMDR, trauma therapy and psychoeducation, alongside breath, grounding, tapping and somatic awareness.
Julia has a particular interest in complex, intergenerational and cultural trauma, grief, burnout, depression and anxiety, and in supporting people navigating systemic barriers and major life stressors.
She doesn’t believe therapy is one-size-fits-all. Sometimes the work is learning greater self-compassion and acceptance. Sometimes it is building structure, taking action or being gently challenged out of an old pattern. Often, it is both.
At the centre of Julia’s work is helping people understand themselves more clearly, develop practical ways to support their nervous system, and create a little more internal space to move through life.
