Covid 19 Protocols

Updated September 16, 2022

At Slow Medicine Company, our goal every day is to promote the health and safety of all patients and their families. Your session may look a little different, but we remain committed to providing the highest quality of care. Thank you for your support, and for taking the time to read our policies and procedures.

Please note that these have been recently updated as of September 16th, 2022. Although the Ontario Government has dropped the mask policy for public spaces, as such, our mask mandate for Slow Medicine Company is now fluid. We will follow your lead and mask up if that makes you more comfortable, we may wear a mask for our own comfort, we may show our smiles to one another. We appreciate your understanding and trust.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

COVID Policy Consent Form: Prior to your first session with us, you will receive an online survey 24 hours before your appointment to confirm that you are safe to attend your in person appointment. We kindly ask that you complete this form and submit online BEFORE your session.

DURING YOUR VISIT

Waiting Room Changes: We have reduced the capacity in our waiting area to allow for physical distancing.

Time of Arrival: We ask that you arrive on time for your session, and no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointment to minimize the number of persons in the waiting room. Your therapist will be out to greet you at your scheduled appointment time.

Limiting Attendance During Session: We are limiting each treatment session to 2 people: the therapist and the patient. Please do not bring extra guests if possible. Exceptions will be made for those that require a parental guardian, caretaker or translator.

Sanitization Before & After Sessions: We will be sanitizing regularly, and ask that you wash or sanitize hands before your session.

Physical Distancing: Physical distancing will NOT always be possible during sessions. Staff and Clients will continue to wear the required PPE as per clients risk assessment and comfort level.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Our therapists will wear masks based on client comfort level and risk assessment.

OUR CLEANING & SANITIZATION PROCESS

  • All staff and clients will be required to thoroughly wash their hands before and after each session.

  • All movement/yoga equipment that are used during a session will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before use in another session.

  • Extra sanitization of our spaces will be done between each visit. We are working hard to do this outside of treatment times. We have set aside 15-minutes in each practitioner’s schedule, between patients, to allow for proper cleaning/disinfecting. This is why it is imperative that you are not early or late to your scheduled appointment.

  • Each treatment area will only be used by one therapist + client at a time.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT US

Please do not come into the clinic if you or anyone in your household is sick.
Be Patient!
We are getting creative and trying new things to see as many clients as possible without sacrificing anyones safety. We appreciate your patience and always appreciate feedback!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Our cancellation policy is still in effect for both virtual and in-clinic sessions. As you can imagine, a lot of preparation goes into getting ready for your appointment, so 24-hours notice IS required to move or cancel an appointment. If you are booked for an in-person session, but it is determined that you do not meet the pre-screening criteria, you do have the option to change your appointment to a virtual one (Emotional Wellbeing). Please plan ahead. If you are feeling unwell, and suspect you will NOT make it for your upcoming appointment – PLEASE CONTACT US ASAP. All missed appointments without cancellation will be charged accordingly.
